COLUMBUS, Ohio (WDTN) -- Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine will speak alongside other Ohio agencies on statewide preparations for the eclipse on Monday.
DeWine and representatives from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Ohio Emergency Management Agency, Ohio Department of Transportation and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources detailed the state's preparations for the total solar eclipse at a press conference today.
The press conference began around 10:30 a.m.
Some notable notes include the fact that the Emergency Operations Center will be in operation beginning on Sunday, April 7 until Tuesday, April 9. The center's operation will allow all four Ohio agencies to work in close proximity.
Also, these agencies have been preparing for the 2024 total solar eclipse for around 2-3 years, having conducted studies of how other states handled the 2017 total solar eclipse to better inform preparations for Monday.
