DeWine activates Emergency Operations Center

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) -- Governor DeWine has initiated the start of the Ohio Emergency Operations Center.

In an effort to help communities during all parts of eclipse preparation and wrap up, the governor made the decision to activate the Ohio Emergency Operations Center.

"While we are confident that our local communities have fully prepared for the influx of spectators, having our Emergency Operations Center at the ready will allow us to immediately respond if any unexpected needs arise," said DeWine.

To assist across the state, members will be watching ODOT cameras, weather radars and communicating with local officials. OSP and ODNR will both be increasing patrols.

If you are planning on hitting the highway on Monday, I-75 in Cincinnati and Dayton are expected to have delays.
